Cooking Instructions
Easily transform your turkey leftovers into a tasty and nutritious broth!
Gather Your Ingredients:
- Leftover turkey bones (including any skin, connective tissue, and bits of meat)
- Note: honestly I don’t add in anything else but the turkey bones because it’s full of flavor already from basting the turkey so I just stick it in the pot, add some water and that’s it!
- Enough water to cover everything in your pot
Choose Your Cooking Method:
Stove Top
- Place all ingredients in a stock pot.
- Fill with water until the bones are just covered.
- Add your herbal soup kit of choice.
- Bring to a boil. Then cover and simmer for 1 – 2 hours.
Crock-Pot:
- Add all ingredients to your Crock-Pot.
- Cover with water and set to low.
- Add your herbal soup kit of choice.
- Let it simmer for 8-10 hours, or even overnight for a richer flavor.
Instant Pot (the easiest and my favorite way to make broth easily):
- Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot.
- Fill with water until the bones are just covered.
- Add your herbal soup kit of choice.
- Cook on the “Soup/Broth” high setting for 50 min.
Strain and Enjoy:
Once cooked, strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve to remove bones and herbs.
Enjoy your homemade turkey bone broth as a comforting soup or use it as a base for other dishes.
