Did you know that in real life you can connect to the force?
The concept of the force is not anything new. Or fictional.
George Lucas is said to have been inspired by the ancient philosophies of East Asia when he came up with the idea of the force in his Star Wars movies.
In fact the philosophy of the force has been around for thousands of years and is central to the concept of healing in East Asian medicine.
It’s called Qi (pronounced “chee”).
Qi is the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. It is the subtle, pervasive energy that flows through meridians, channels, and pathways within the body, nourishing and sustaining physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Through various practices, you’re able to tap into this life force within you.
How?
Through practices called Qi cultivation.
Qi cultivation exercises encompass a range of ancient practices designed to enhance the flow of Qi within the body, promote balance, and facilitate healing.
These exercises include acupuncture, acupressure, self-massage, breathing, and movement.
These exercises are grounded in the principles of traditional East Asian medicine and martial arts. They aim to promote the circulation of Qi, remove energy blockages, and harmonize the body’s vital energies.
In traditional East Asian thought, balanced and harmonious Qi flow is essential for overall health, vitality, and well-being.
Try this simple exercise:
Sit in a comfortable position sitting down with your back straight, your chin slightly tucked under. Place your hands over your heart. Take a few moments to feel your hands rise and fall as you take a breath in and out. Now close your eyes and take three deep breaths still bringing awareness to your heart.
How do you feel after taking those three deep breaths? Do you feel calmer? More focused? Do you feel a slight tingling in your body? Did you feel the warmth of your hands over your heart? All of these sensations are examples of the Qi circulating in your body. Your vital life force.
Just like a Jedi, you need regular practice to feel more connected to the force.
Go ahead and tap into the force. Feel the force that is present all around you. It’s good for your health.
May the force be with you always,
Melissa
